In 1985, I published Fragments (of Rhyme and Reason), a collection of poems accumulated from my sporadic attempts to give expression to feelings over time under different circumstances.
What follows is largely a selection from poems written since, with a few repeats, many finding their way into the CIA quarterly circulated among Agency retirees, the CIRA Newsletter. I have included as well some from my autobiographical account, Along the Way, and one appearing in Letters from World War II, these because of the seemingly indestructible linkage between past and present.
The Commentaries on poems contained herein are aimed at sharing with the reader the occasion or circumstances prompting the writing of the poem.
